How to watch Red Sox games without cable: Full TV schedule, streams for 2021 Opening Day & more

Feast your eyes on Red Sox baseball.

Make no mistake, the Red Sox are in for an uphill battle once again in 2021. While Boston still boasts a lineup that features JD Martinez, Rafael Devers and Alex Verdugo, the pitching staff will once again suffer with Chris Sale still on the shelf recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Now, just over a year after the Sox shipped Mookie Betts west, the team sent off another 2018 World Series hero, Andrew Benintendi, to the Royals, further eroding the team’s core.

If the Red Sox want to make noise in the AL East, then they’ll have a good chance to make it early in the season, with 11 division games happening in April vs. the Orioles, Rays and Jays.

Below you’ll find the Red Sox schedule, how to watch and more for the 2021 MLB season:

Red Sox on Opening Day

  • Opponent: Baltimore Orioles
  • Time: 2:10 p.m. ET
  • TV channel: NESN, fuboTV

First pitch for the 2021 Red Sox will be coming from the uncertain arm of Nathan Eovaldi. Eovaldi spent some time on the Injured List once again in 2020, but pitched well enough for Boston through nine starts: 3.72 ERA, 52 strikeouts and 40 walks in 48 1/3 innings.

The Orioles will be countering with John Means, coming off a less-than stellar spring.

How to watch Red Sox games without cable

For those without cable, there are several options to stream Red Sox games this year. Of course, MLB’s (ridiculous) blackout restrictions apply:

— If you’re in market, fuboTV carries NESN, the Red Sox’s RSN, but blackout restrictions apply. Meaning, if you are within the New England market for NESN, you can watch Red Sox baseball via fuboTV. But, for those out of market, you will not be able to watch Red Sox games on the streaming service, since fuboTV will not carry the out-of-market RSN.

— Inside of market, AT&T TV also carries NESN and all of the networks which broadcast nationally televised games: Fox, ESPN, MLB Network, FS1 and MLB Network. These are all part of the service’s “Choice” package for $84.99.

— If you live outside of the Red Sox’s TV market, you can watch games via MLB.TV. For $129.99 for the season, you can catch every game from every team, or $24.99 per month. You can also pick a single-team option for $109.99 a month. Keep in mind, if you are inside of the Red Sox market, games will be blacked out. Games will also be blacked out if you live outside of the Red Sox market, but inside of the market of teams the Red Sox are visiting.

— For nationally televised games, there are a few options with some exceptions: fuboTV, SlingTV, AT&T TV, YouTube TV and Hulu+ Live Sports all carry ESPN, MLB Network and FS1.

You can check if games are blacked out in your area using MLB’s blackout tool.
