Texas Destination Resort Alliance Launches Ad Campaign, Website
Will Engage Texans on the Benefits of Bringing World-Class Destination Resorts to Texas
AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Destination Resort Alliance today announced the launch of a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign to engage and inform Texans on the benefits of bringing world-class destination resorts to Texas.
Legislation has been filed in the Texas House by Rep. John Kuempel (HJR 133) and in the Texas Senate by Sen. Carol Alvarado (SJR 49) to amend the Texas Constitution and give Texans the opportunity to vote on the ballot in November to bring destination resorts to the state.
These limited in number destination resorts could include state-of-the-art entertainment complexes, four to five-star hotel accommodations, substantial convention and meeting spaces, casino gaming, live performance and entertainment venues, destination retail shopping, nightclubs, spas and recreation amenities and a wide range of food and beverage outlets.
The television and radio ads launched today highlight the fact that every year, Texans are spending billions of dollars at casino resorts just across the border in Arkansas, Louisiana New Mexico, and Oklahoma – billions that could stay in Texas to fund crucial services like public safety, education, health care and infrastructure.
The creation of these iconic destinations would also lead to massive job creation for the state of Texas, producing 185,000 construction-related jobs and more than 70,000 permanent jobs once they are fully up and running.
In addition to the television and radio ads, the Destination Resort Alliance launched a website to provide Texans with more information on establishing destination resorts in Texas, the latest news on this issue and more ways they can get involved. The website can be found at www.TXDRA.com.
“The Texas Destination Resort Alliance will keep Texans informed on our efforts to bring destination resorts to Texas,” said Las Vegas Sands Senior Vice President Andy Abboud. “We are excited to tell the story about what these resorts can bring to the state, including tens of thousands of jobs. We look forward engaging Texans in our ongoing efforts, as well as continuing to work with the legislature to give voters the chance to make destination resorts a reality.”
