Edinburg, TX- Construction is in motion for Hidalgo County Precinct 4’s new Justice Center set to commence October 1, 2021. Employees and the public are expected to be able to use this facility by October 2022.
The Justice Center will be the new home to Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 4, Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Place 1, and Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Place 2. The building will be located north of the Hidalgo County Health Department just off the frontage road at Highway 281.
“I am extremely excited to break ground on this much needed project. The biggest benefits are the proximity and access for the public to the entities.” said Commissioner Ellie Torres.
The project is approximately $4 million dollars. The new structure will be 12,459 sq. ft. and it will host two courtrooms. The project team includes Hidalgo County Precinct 4 and Executive Office, project management by B2Z Engineering, civil engineering by M Garcia Engineering, MEP by Trinity Engineering, structural engineering by Chanin Engineering, architectural design by ROFA Architects and ECON Group is the general contractor.
