2 Corpus Christi schools received foreign threats

Students and staff at two Corpus Christi campuses were threatened in a social media post that was generated outside the country, police said Tuesday.

The schools involved were Corpus Christi ISD’s King High School and Annapolis Christian Academy, a private Christian institution.

Investigators with the Corpus Christi police’s Criminal Investigation Division and Organized Crime Unit were notified of the post by the school district’s police department Chief Kirby Warnke on Saturday. Together, they immediately launched an investigation to determine the validity of the threats, as well as to identify the suspect or suspects involved.

Operations Division officers, along with those from the Corpus Christi ISD Police Department, met with administrators at both schools to coordinate a law enforcement response. They also provided uniformed presence at the campuses, which were not identified.
