Serie A schedule: How to watch soccer matches from Italy on Paramount+, CBS Sports Network

We’re going to get a test of the title credentials for a few contenders in Matchday 7 of the Serie A season this weekend.

All eyes will be on surprise side Fiorentina (5th, 12pts) which welcomes pacesetter Napoli (1st, 18pts), the only team on maximum points this season with six wins out of six. A victory for the Viola would put them into serious contention for Champions League spots this season.

A team that many tabbed as a potential outsider for the Serie A title will get a chance to relaunch its bid as Atalanta (7th, 11pts) hosts second-place AC Milan (2nd, 16pts), which has only dropped two points all season. The other Milan-based club, Inter Milan (3rd, 14pts) has a similarly stiff test on the road at tricky Sassuolo (12th, 7pts), while fourth-place AS Roma (4th, 12pts) should have an easier time at home (on paper) against overachieving Empoli (8th, 9pts).

But the big match of the weekend is the Turin derby with Juventus (10th, 8pts) and Torino (9th, 8pts) even on points in the standings. Juve, one of the preseason favorites, is desperate for a victory in its attempt to stay within reach of the top spots.

At the bottom of the table, the VeronaSpezia and SalernitanaGenoa matches will have any winners feeling good about their chances to beat the drop to Serie B this season, with the home teams having a little more pressure on them to get three big points at home.
