Our health is one of the most important things that we can learn to safeguard. To a child, there are few things worse than getting sick, and the idea of a trip to the doctor is something they might not always enjoy. That’s why we’re happy to announce that our Teddy Bear Clinic will be returning to the CMB on Saturday, October 9, from 11 am – 1 pm.
The format of this event is simple and fun. Here’s how it works:
- Your child can bring their own teddy bear (or any stuffed animal of their choice) along to the museum for their visit.
- Their little companion will undergo a variety of health exams on behalf of several local medical and health professionals who’ll give the benefit of their knowledge and experience in a variety of health-related areas.
- Along the way, kids will learn that taking care of their health sometimes involves help, and as their teddy bear completes their exams one-by-one, the professionals can show the importance of check-ups and ease any fears they may have.
This year’s event will feature professionals from the City of Brownsville’s Health & Wellness Department and Maternal & Child Health Department, Brownsville Police Department, Escudo Training Systems, Z-meal Planner, and more. We hope you’ll join us!
