The City of McAllen has contracted with Andale Construction for a street preservation project on select McAllen streets throughout the city.  The project will run from Monday, September 12 through Tuesday, September 20, 2022, starting at 7:00 a.m.  The street maintenance project will help to significantly extend the life of the asphalt streets.  During the required road maintenance, residents in these neighborhoods are asked to be prepared to make the following adjustments to trash/recycling collection, parking, road access and irrigation as the streets being treated will be closed for 24 hours.

Trash and recycling collection will need to be picked up before 7:30 a.m. on the streets that are being treated.  Please ensure that trash and recycling bins are out before 7:00 a.m.

Crews will begin work promptly at 7:00 a.m. and vehicles will be allowed to exit the area up until 7:30 a.m.  Please do not park within 50 feet of any road being worked on. If a vehicle is parked on a street that will be blocked by adjacent surfacing work, it will have to remain until the work is completed. If the vehicle is on the street when work begins, it will be towed to the end of the area. Vehicles may remain in driveways if residents are not needing to leave their homes the day the work is scheduled for their street.

Roads will be completely closed to thru traffic once work begins.  Do not attempt to drive on the road while it is closed as this may cause damage to vehicle and to the newly treated surface.  Neither Andale Construction nor the City of McAllen will be responsible for damage to the vehicles done by driving on treated roadways.

Residents are asked to shut off their irrigation systems while road work is being performed and turn off sprinkler systems during and after 24 hours after the road is treated.

Andale Construction has coordinated with the U.S. postal service, as well as Fed Ex and UPS to ensure that mail and deliveries are received as scheduled.

Residents should be able to park within walking distance of their homes. If transportation assistance is needed to shuttle between parking location and home, please call (361) 570-3315 between 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to make arrangements.

Emergency vehicles will be able to access homes in the neighborhood 24 hours a day.

For more information on the road closures, visit www.HA5infor.com/mcallen. Text the word KEYWORD to 77222 for road closures due to weather delays. If weather causes a halt to the project, streets may be closed at a later date.
