South Texas College is set to host its spring 2023 commencement ceremonies this Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6, 2023.
On Friday, May 5, more than 1,400 South Texas College dual credit students from the college’s 21 partnering school districts will earn certificates or associate degrees during STC’s spring 2023 commencement ceremonies. STC’s Dual Credit students come from high schools in Hidalgo and Starr Counties, saving them and their families thousands of dollars in college tuition and saving time; giving them a head start at a college education before even graduating from high school.
On Saturday, May 6, more than 3,100 STC graduates will be joined by retired Nurse Practitioner and STC donor Mary Killoran for a surprise presentation. Last month, Killoran donated $50,000, set to be an annual donation, to provide students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing, with student scholarships.
Every fall and spring semesters, STC celebrates its graduates with commencement ceremonies to highlight a milestone that gives students the foundation to either continue their education or begin a successful career.
