Born and raised in Edinburg Texas, Juan G. Cano, is the son of migrant field workers whose parents always ensued the importance of family. Mr. Cano graduated from Edinburg High school, and a few hours post-graduation, he was on the long road to Michigan for work. He vowed at that point to change his life and those of his future children. Mr. Cano is a partner in various endeavors which will change the face of medical care and victims’ response, one being United Home Renal Care, Inc. where Hemodialysis is taken into the home of dialysis users in order to increase the patient’s quality of life and work as a normal kidney restoring normalcy to diet and longevity to those in need
Juan G. Cano is currently the CO-Chair of the Rio Grande Valley Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce, where the mission is to bring awareness to the community on the issue of Human Trafficking the Taskforce also works along side with municipality, county, state, federal agencies and NGO’s for trainings and special operations to assist, deter and rescue those who fall victims to traffickers. Cano was also a part of a Public Policy Committee in the State Capital to enhance the penalties against Human traffickers/
Juan began to serve and to assist victims and their families as an investigator for the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office where his advocacy for Victims and Families of Domestic Violence turned into a passion. Cano saw victims and their loved ones enter and exit through the revolving door of abuse and neglect. He identified a need for more safety, more access, more accountability, through what he witnessed firsthand, he identified a way to place it all in the palm of the Victims’ hand.
Cano decided to open a technology company by the name of Justice Alert Technologies, where he created Victim Initiated Notification mobile application. (VIN) Justice Alert Technology, LLC has developed a patent pending mobile safety application for victims of domestic violence. Through this groundbreaking application victims of domestic violence now can alert law enforcement, record crucial evidentiary data that will identify the preparator and give the necessary evidence to assist with the prosecution of the perpetrator. In turn giving victims their security and peace of mind that they will now have the evidence to prove the harassment, threats and violence against them
Cano continues to work with the Sheriff Department in Hidalgo County, Willacy County and Brooks County as well as the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office, Willacy District Attorneys Officer, and the County of Brooks County in the fight against Domestic Violence.
