The time of year for mum-making, royal court-voting and parade-watching has once again descended upon Port Isabel. Point Isabel Homecoming 2023 kicks off next week, Oct. 2-5.
Point Isabel Independent School District [PI-ISD] will be hosting “theme days” for the staff and students. Each day of the week there will be a different theme to dress as.
On Monday, kicking off the theme week, students and staff will be “proud to be a Tarpon.” They are encouraged to wear red, white and blue clothing.
On Tuesday, the theme is “Let’s build a mighty Tarpon nation.” Students and staff are encouraged to wear “construction worker attire.”
On Wednesday, the theme is “Pink out Barbie.” Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink attire.
On Thursday, the theme is “Let’s go fishing.” Students and staff are encouraged to wear fishing attire.
On Friday, closing out the theme week, students and staff are encouraged to wear their class colors.
Wednesday, Oct. 4, the Annual Homecoming Parade starts at 6 p.m., with the PTI Burning following shortly after, behind the Junior High, at 7:30 p.m. PI-ISD is looking at bringing out some food trucks to the burning.
