The Cameron County Sherriff’s Office Deputies are investigating separate area burglary cases.
The office of Cameron County Sheriff Eric Garza requests the public’s assistance in locating a wanted subject.
In a CCSO social media post, CCSO officials explained that sheriff deputies are investigating a string of burglaries in the unincorporated community of El Ranchito, outside of San Benito along the Rio Grande River.
Sheriff deputies identified Carlos Abrego as the primary suspect, according to CCSO officials. Furthermore, arrest warrants were issued authorizing the arrest of Abrego for the offense of burglary, read the CCSO post. Abrego has been seen driving a white passenger vehicle in the San Benito area, according to the post.
Authorities are asking anyone with information on Abrego’s whereabouts to contact the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office at (956) 554-6700 or the Cameron County Crime Stoppers at (956) 350-5551.
Man Arrested on Burglary Charge
On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, CCSO Deputies responded to a residence on the 28000 block of Alfaro Rd., Rio Hondo, regarding a burglary. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim who reported his neighbor witnessed a vehicle and two suspects on his property.
