Bust made in alleged theft – San Benito News

LOS FRESNOS, TX—On Saturday, February 24, 2024, at about 6:30 p.m., Cameron County Sheriff Deputies responded to a residence on the 40300 block of Bill Davis regarding an alleged theft.

According to a Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) report, deputies made contact with a 43-year-old male who reported that his 2015 Polaris Ranger and two baby goats were stolen from his property. He went on to say that they were later located by a friend at the 100 block of Adams in Laguna Heights.

Sheriff’s deputies proceeded to make contact at the residence where they were informed by the resident that a subject named Francisco sold him the Polaris and the baby goats.

The report adds that sheriff’s deputies located the subject identified as Francisco and proceeded to read him his Miranda warnings. The subject, identified as Francisco Hernandez Gonzalez, reportedly confessed to taking the Polaris and the baby goats.

According to the CCSO, he the suspect went on to admit to selling the items without the consent of the owner. The victim recovered the Polaris and the baby goats, the CCSO report reads.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Hernandez Gonzalez and transported him to the Cameron County Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center in Olmito pending arraignment. Hernandez Gonzalez is charged with Theft, TPC: 31.03, a State Jail Felony.
