RIO HONDO, TX—Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a local man here accused of furnishing alcohol to minors.
According to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), on Saturday, Jun. 8, 2024, at approximately 4 a.m., Cameron County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a welfare concern within the vicinity just outside of Rio Hondo.
Upon arrival, according to a sheriff’s office incident report, deputies made contact with a female complainant who said that her juvenile daughter sent her a message via Snapchat requesting that her mother remove her from a relative’s residence due to feeling, “uncomfortable.”
The female juvenile alleges that her aunt’s boyfriend, later identified as Angel Javier Jaime (26), was making sexual comments and requests directed to her via Snapchat. The female complainant stated that upon receiving the distressing message from her daughter, she immediately drove to a residence, located on FM 2925, to remove her from the property.
While conducting a preliminary investigation for an alleged offense, deputies discovered that Jaime was allegedly in violation of Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code: 106.06; Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
According to sheriff’s deputies, at some time during the night, the female juvenile reportedly appropriated and consumed a “Twisted Tea” (alcoholic beverage). According the sheriff’s office report, when asked if he was aware that the female juvenile had consumed any alcoholic beverage, Jaime reportedly said, “yes.”
Jaime was later placed under arrest for the offense of Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, as defined by Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code: 106.06. He was transported to the Cameron County, Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center in Olmito for proper booking and processing without incident. A separate alleged offense is still under investigation.
All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
