Wanna Wanna Beach Bar and Grill recently went under renovation and is now sporting an enhanced look. The project was completed as of Nov. 8.

South Padre Handyman LLC headed the renovation which took four weeks in total.

According to David Pollis of South Padre Island Handyman, his team removed the shade canopy that once resided over the seating area deck directly left of the bar. A more permanent 1,600-square-foot roof was
constructed and installed along with multiple supporting piers.

Pollis partnered with Morris Martinez under MJ Marine Construction, who specializes in docks and boatlifts, to complete the renovation.

“Him and his boys are relentless. They are very good workers,” said Pollis.

Reliable Electric also assisted with the project.

According to Pollis, during the construction, workers ran into a “handful” of issues, including the presence of bathroom tile found six-feet below the dining room deck. According to Handyman, the tile was a
remnant of a hotel that was apparently blown down by a hurricane in the 1970s.

Handyman says he is pleased with the project’s outcome.

“I love it. It’s so strong,” he said. “Everybody loves it. It’s perfect.”

Wanna Wanna is located at 5100 Gulf Blvd, South Padre Island. More information on the bar and grill can be found at wannawanna.com. More information on South Padre Island Handyman can be found on their
