SWAT raids SB home – San Benito News

Two San Benito residents received an early Christmas visit from local authorities, but they were not bearing gifts. Instead, after an intense raid of their residence that included the involvement of multiple SWAT teams, the duo was placed in handcuffs and escorted to jail.

According to a San Benito Police Department (SBPD) press release about the mission which took place on December 23, 2024, at around 1 p.m., the SBPD’s Special Investigations Unit, with the assistance of the San Benito SWAT, and Cameron County SWAT teams, executed a narcotics search warrant on a residence off of the 1100 Block of Scott Brown Blvd. in San Benito.

During the execution of the search warrant, 17-year-old Elisio Bueno, and 20-year-old Alfredo Peña were encountered in the residence and detained. According to SBPD, during the search of the residence, narcotics were located, and both subjects were subsequently placed under arrest.

After interviews were conducted with both Bueno and Peña, it was determined that both subjects were allegedly involved in the street-level sales and delivery of marijuana and THC products.

The following charges were applied to each: Bueno — Manufacturing and Delivery of Controlled Substance, PG2, a First Degree Felony ($200,000 Bond), Delivery of Marijuana, a State Jail Felony ($100,000 Bond).

Alfredo Peña, meanwhile, was charged with Delivery of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor ($75,000 Bond).
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
