The eighth suborbital test flight of Starship has been delayed until Monday, according to SpaceX, which did not explain the reason for the delay.

The flight had been scheduled for Friday.

Flight 8 will attempt a return and catch of the Super Heavy booster at the Boca Chica launch tower and deployment of mock satellites by Starship, which will also attempt a soft ocean landing in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Australia.

Flight 7, on Jan. 16, saw the loss of Starship S33 due to propellant leaks, which caused fires and engine loss, triggering the vehicle’s autonomous self-destruct system over the Caribbean.

Cameron County has ordered Boca Chica Beach and S.H. 4 leading to SpaceX closed from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Monday.
