Boasting endorsements from US President Donald J. Trump and Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Republican Janie Lopez recently announced her campaign for re-election to the Texas House of Representatives, reaffirming her dedication to conservative values and South Texas priorities in House District 37.

“When I first ran for the Texas House in 2022, I promised to deliver conservative results for House District 37 after decades of Democrat control,” said Lopez. “Working alongside Conservative leaders like Governor Greg Abbott, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, and Speaker Dustin Burrows, we were able to usher in major conservative wins, including defending the southern border, lowering property taxes, empowering parents, increasing public education funding & teacher pay raises, and strengthening family values. Locally, I am proud to have secured over $63 million in local infrastructure, drainage, and economic development projects in the district.”

“I have delivered on the promises I made, but the work doesn’t stop with what has been accomplished. There is still work to do to strengthen our community and ensure that South Texas thrives,” Lopez continued.

Representative Lopez’s strong conservative record has earned her the coveted endorsement of President Donald J. Trump. “In recognition of your outstanding service to the Great State of Texas, I am honored to give you, Janie Lopez, my Complete and total Endorsement in the upcoming Re-Election,” said President Trump.

Having worked alongside Lopez to pass some of the most conservative legislation in the country, Governor Greg Abbott praised her, saying, “She has delivered conservative wins this session, including meaningful property tax relief, parental empowerment, and historic education funding for her district.”

Lopez brings grit, faith, and a strong understanding of her district’s needs to the Texas House, according to a statement from the Representative’s office. She remains focused on serving working families, rural communities, and her district’s constituents.

“It has been an honor to give South Texas voters a voice in Austin and to cast a vote that reflects our values. I look forward to continuing to meet with voters in House District 37 about the issues that matter most to them and earning their vote again,” Representative Lopez concluded.

Lopez was elected to House District 37 in November 2022, making her the second Hispanic Republican woman elected in Texas and the first in South Texas. A former teacher, school counselor, and SBCISD Board Trustee, Lopez now owns a small business that provides mental health services to children, families, and veterans.

She resides in San Benito.
