BROWNSVILLE, TX—Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector Edelmiro “Eddie” Garcia has announced a new option allowing county property owners to receive their annual property tax statements by email.

The eNotifications service is part of a broader effort to modernize Tax Office operations, improve customer convenience, and reduce the cost of government, according to a press release from the Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector.

By way of this new system, Cameron County taxpayers who enroll by September 15 will receive their October statement electronically.

By selecting electronic delivery, they will continue to receive statements by email each year in lieu of standard mail, unless they choose to unsubscribe (pursuant to Texas Property Tax Code Section 31.01).

“Every year, we mail tens of thousands of tax statements across the county,” said Garcia. “eNotications gets taxpayers their statements faster, reduces printing and postage costs, and moves us toward the efficient, modern government Cameron County deserves.”

Signing up is simple. Visit the Tax Assessor-Collector’s website at camerontax.go2gov.net/faces/search.jsp, search for property, and select “Subscribe or eNotifications.” A verification email will confirm your enrollment.

According to the Cameron County Tax Office, benefits include: Faster delivery of tax payer’s annual property tax statement; access from any device, at any time; less paper waste; lower printing and postage costs for both taxpayers and county government.

“This is another step toward delivering efficient, cost-effective service while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars,” Garcia added.
