T-Accounts offer shot at wealth – San Benito News

San Benito is one of the Valley’s poorest communities, but there’s a new opportunity that could change that.

For decades in this city, families have passed poverty down from one generation to the next. But that trajectory can change.

By creating Trump Accounts (T-Accounts), the U.S. Government has given its people the opportunity to invest in its youth.

These T-Accounts are available to children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and possess a valid Social Security Number.

The family or parents’ political leanings don’t matter in this case; these accounts benefit future generations of all walks of life and political affiliations.

Parents or legal guardians do need to sign up for the account, and the government will deposit $1,000 for each child who applies. This money will continue to grow until the child turns 18.

Once he or she reaches 18, they can withdraw the funds, which will have grown substantially by this point.

To get started, visit TrumpAccounts.gov. Parents can also sign into their IRS account using ID.me and submit Form 4547.

I stress that enrolling children is not automatic; parents or guardians must register their children to receive $1,000 in government-provided accounts.

The website claims that if you leave these accounts undisturbed until the child turns 18, they can grow to $6,000. If you leave them undisturbed and do not add any money, they will grow to $15,000 by age 27.

If left undisturbed until the child turns 55, the seed money the government invested in that baby will grow to $243,000. Wow, isn’t that great?

That would be almost like a retirement account for that person.

Let’s suppose a parent contributes $250 a year until the child is 18. That money will grow to $19,000 at age 18, $51,000 at age 27, and $878,000 at age 55. This could be a real game-changer for our future residents.

Let’s go even further. Suppose the parent invested the maximum allowed, $5,000 per year; that investment will grow to $271,000 at age 18, $742,000 at age 27, and $13 million at age 55.

I’m not saying that everyone will become a millionaire in San Benito. Still, there is real opportunity for parents to secure their children’s future through these T-Accounts, which the government has made readily available to those who qualify and apply.

Whatever the reason, stay informed and secure a T-Account for your child’s prosperity and for an opportunity to end generational poverty in San Benito.
