San Benito CISD reported a bus accident on Shafer Road and Colorado Street in San Benito that occurred on Thursday, October 15.
According to a SBCISD statement, which was also posted on the district’s social media pages, the City of San Benito Police Department and the SBCISD Police Department responded Thursday morning to a minor traffic incident at the intersection of Shafer Road and Colorado Street involving a school district bus and a vehicle.
Authorities promptly assessed the situation, which involved all students and staff on the district bus and the driver of the other vehicle. At the time of the incident, 14 high school students and the bus driver were aboard. No one was injured.
Once the safety assessment was complete and all passengers were cleared, the district transportation department resumed the regular route with all students.
“San Benito CISD sincerely appreciates all first responders for their swift, professional assistance in protecting our students’ well-being,” the district’s statement concluded.
“Glad no one was hurt,” was one of the comments on social media about the accident, attributed to Aida Meeks.
