The Point Isabel Independent School District Board of Trustees has approved its 2026-27 Compensation Plan, providing salary increases for employees across multiple job classifications while raising the district’s starting teacher salary.

Under the newly approved plan, administrators and professional staff will receive a 2% salary increase, while clerical and auxiliary employees will receive 4% raises.

The district also announced a starting teacher salary of $57,170 for the upcoming school year. Experienced educators joining Point Isabel ISD with 20 or more years of experience will be eligible for a starting salary of $71,640.

District officials said the compensation plan reflects PIISD’s ongoing commitment to attracting and retaining high-quality educators and support staff while continuing to invest in student success.

“At Point Isabel ISD, we’re committed to attracting and retaining outstanding educators and staff while continuing to invest in the success of our students and community,” the district said in announcing the plan.

The compensation package was approved by the Board of Trustees during its June meeting as part of preparations for the 2026-27 school year.

The district’s newly adopted salary schedule is designed to help PIISD remain competitive in recruiting teachers and staff while recognizing the important role employees play in serving students throughout the district.
