The City of Port Isabel has welcomed Lori Moore as the new administrator for the Port Isabel Economic Development Corporation (EDC), where she will oversee programs aimed at supporting local businesses and encouraging economic growth.

Moore said one of her primary goals is to strengthen relationships with the local business community while helping business owners take advantage of resources available through the EDC.

“I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and let you know that one of my primary goals is to support the continued success and growth of our local business community,” Moore said in a message to local businesses. “Whether you are looking to improve your property, expand your business, or simply have questions about available resources, I’m here to help.”

The Port Isabel EDC currently offers two business assistance programs designed to encourage investment in the community.

The Business Enhancement Grant Program is a matching grant program that assists eligible commercial property owners with exterior improvements, including façade renovations, paint, signage, landscaping, windows, doors and other beautification projects.

The EDC also administers a Revolving Loan Fund Program, which provides financing opportunities for eligible businesses seeking to expand operations, purchase equipment, make property improvements or invest in future growth.

Moore encouraged business owners who are considering improvement projects or expansion plans to reach out to learn more about the available programs.

“If you’re considering a future project or would simply like to learn more about either program, I would be happy to meet with you and discuss your goals,” she said.

As she settles into her new role, Moore said she also hopes to meet with business owners throughout Port Isabel to learn more about their needs and identify ways the EDC can continue supporting the city’s business community.

“I look forward to working with you,” Moore said.

Business owners interested in the Business Enhancement Grant Program or the Revolving Loan Fund Program may contact the Port Isabel Economic Development Corporation for additional information.
